How to Solve a Cube

Here are the top 5 tools for beginners to learn how to solve the Rubik’s Cube

When I first learned to cube, these were some of the most helpful videos and tools to get me started. Just under a year after I started cubing, I am solving the traditional 3×3 puzzle in under 18 seconds average. My personal best time is 7.546 seconds.

My family and I love the community of cubers because almost everyone is super friendly.
My mom thinks it’s the world’s best brain game.

We started to meet other speedcubers in person at competitions around the country. Now, I’ve hosted my own cubing competition and attended many. I’ll be attending US Nationals 2016.

I’ll share more about how to get involved with WCA (World Cube Association) competitions in another post! Make sure you sign up for updates.

Here are the tools to solve the world’s coolest puzzle:

Beginners Method Tutorial (It’s the tutorial I made!)

In Depth on the Middle Layer (Help with the tutorial above)

Solving the Yellow Side with One Algorithm  (I use this method to solve the yellow side)

Permuting the Pieces Around the Last Layer with One Algorithm (I learned when I averaged around 24 seconds)

Really Good Video on How Collin Burns Solved the Cube In 5.25 Seconds (Very in-depth on how speed cubing works as well)
